The way to Create A Holiday Special event Around A Educational setting
As everyone knows Christmas is a fun time of year for many. Children love Christmas because of the gifts they receive and the adults especially like it to because of how much joy is in the air and the goodwill that surrounds the holiday season. However, because of the religious background to the holiday it can be difficult to celebrate Christmas in class, but if you organize it early you can allow for the concerns of the parents and the administration to be heard. This will allow you to have time to change your plan for a Christmas celebrations, and instead turn it into a Winter holidays celebrations.
While planning for the celebrations, make sure you get permission to hold the event. This step is quite important. There are many schools that don’t participate in the celebrations of Christmas because of the religious element. If the administration doesn’t allow you to celebrate Christmas, then consider doing some sort of Winter holiday celebrations instead, or even some kind of Welcome Winter party.
You need to send a letter out to the parents and let them know about the event. In the letter you should explain to them, on what will happen, where it will happen and what time it will happen. Leave some room on the letter for the parents to write any concerns about the event that they may have. Inform them that this even is supposed to be fun.
Provide some lessons on what Christmas is all about. These lessons could be about how other countries celebrate this time of year. However, if you are doing Winter holiday celebrations, you may just want to do a lesson on what Kwanzaa is, and other holidays in December.
Allow for the students to participate in the decoration for the event. Allow for some time allocated in the class to get them to make the decorations for the party. These decorations could be Christmas tree ornaments, snowflakes for the walls and garlands. This will help get the students excited about the event. Discuss with them what food they should bring to the party, and what games they would like to play as well.
Ask the students to bring in a gift for the homeless; this is something that needs to be discussed with the parents and the school before proceeding. This will help teach the students that Christmas isn’t just a time for receiving, it is also a time for giving as well. This will teach the students the true meaning of what Christmas is really all about.
Prior to the party, get the students to bring in some music for the day and for the celebrations. This will create a nice mood for the event, and make it a really festive party. The music can either be Christmas songs or songs on the radio, the choice will be between the students and you. If the students cannot bring the music, then you may have to. You may also want to consider dressing up for the event as well, and get the students to do so too.
