The 3 Most Important Things For Your Nursery
If you have a baby on the way then I bet you are frantically trying to get everything ready for the birth, right? Well one of the most important areas to have ready is the nursery, I know for the first few nights or weeks you may want your baby in your room in a bassinet, but eventually you will have the baby in their nursery and then they will be spending a significant amount of time in that room from then on.
So here are the 3 things that I think are important to have in a nursery:
Crib: I didn’t really even need to say this one as it is obvious, I mean the three things a baby does most of the time are crying, pooping and sleeping! So you need to have a really good crib for them, it needs to be high quality so it can withstand all the abuse it is going to get as your baby grows and starts pulling on the bars and jumping up and down in it. It needs to be safe too due to the fact your baby will be exploring every inch of it, sometimes the design of a crib looks good but has little areas where a baby can get their fingers stuck etc.
As you baby grows then eventually there will come a time when they can or do get out of it by climbing over the side, when that time comes you have two choices. Lots of people will go straight out and buy a proper bed, but the problem with that is that you child is used to being surrounded by bars as he/she sleeps, now you are taking all that away. Instead what you can do is take the side off the crib, then they can get in and out like a normal bed, but 3 sides still have bars to stop it being too big of a change.
Toys/Toy chest: Toys are loved by babies everywhere! Yet they also help your child to develop mentally and physically too as they push them around and invent scenarios to use them in. They can be dangerous though, so it is important to get a toy chest along with the toys, and to encourage your baby to put them away as soon as they can, or for you to put them away each night when they are too young to.
Nursing chair: A nursing glider chair is perfect for nursing your baby, but it is also perfect for rocking them off to sleep when they are having trouble sleeping, and are a great place to read to them. It is a good idea to have it in the nursery so after they are all sleepy from feeding and have drifted off to sleep as you rock them, then when you are ready to put them down you can put them straight into the crib.
