Keep reading this guide to find out more about the best locations for a summer holiday.
South West England
The south west is consistently one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK. Many people buy used caravans specifically so they can easily visit this part of the country. Cornwall is arguably the most visited area but Devon and Dorset also see significant numbers. In the whole of the UK, the Atlantic coast of Devon and Cornwall is regarded as the best place to surf.
South East England
The south east of the UK has the highest average temperatures throughout the year and is the place to come if you want sunshine. In the summer months, caravans flock here. The rolling countryside of the South Downs National Park is also a paradise for people who like cycling and walking.
Cumbria – The Lake District
Of all the UK, the Lake District is arguably the most beautiful. Home to England’s highest mountain as well as the largest lake (Lake Windermere), the area is popular for all manner of outdoor activities. Popular outdoor pastimes in the Lake District include paragliding, rock climbing, hiking and cycling. Water based sports are also popular due to the high number of lakes and rivers.
Other Destinations
The destinations above though are clearly just a selection. The whole of the UK is good for a caravan holiday. Places such as the Cotswolds, the Peak District and North Wales are all excellent holiday destinations. One of the best ways to see the UK is to just get out and explore.
