I loved every minute of my time on the Queen Victoria
I got back from my holiday on the Queen Victoria yesterday and wanted to share my thoughts with those considering booking a luxury cruise on this magnificent ship. I’ve been on a Queen Mary 2 cruise before, and after some careful consideration decided to book this cruise for 2011. Boarding the ship was fast and easy, we didn’t encounter any problems. It took around ten to fifteen minutes from arriving at the dock to boarding the ship. Once we got on the Queen Victoria, we found our cabin really quickly; this was helped by the very welcoming staff. Our luggage was delivered to our rooms within 2-3 hours which is incredibly fast for a cruise ship of this stature.
Queen Victoria is as elegant as its name would have you imagine. It literally glides across the ocean and the only thing to match its impressive exterior is it’s even more gorgeous interior. The theatre inside was breathtaking. Easily the biggest on ship theatre I’ve ever been inside. Throughout the corridors and lounges there were several musicians on hand to elegantly guide us through the ship. To see some pictures from onboard the ship go here. For breakfast and dinner we headed to the Brittania restaurant, which was open all day round. The food was very good, though not on the level of the exquisite Verandah restaurant. Service was consistent, staff were always on hand to answer any questions we had.
I actually found myself spending lots of time in the on board library, which was rather unusual. Before booking, I hadn’t envisioned spending much time in the on board library, but I found it a very tranquil, beautifully designed area of the ship and really managed to relax there. Shore support was was fantastic, we didn’t run into any trouble and everything went plain sailing, if you excuse the awful unintended pun.
In summary, I completely loved my time on Queen Victoria and got to see the world in luxurious comfort, I would certainly recomend it to other. For my next holiday i’m considering booking one of the Regent cruises for 2013.
