In the UK, there’s plenty of destinations which are great to go on holiday. Caravanning is seen as a distinctly British thing and thousands of people go off on holiday in the UK every year. Because of the warmer average temperature, a lot of the most popular destinations are in the south. Keep reading to learn more about some of the best UK camping destinations.

Cornwall

Many people who buy caravans for sale decide to go to the West Country for their first trip. Cornwall tends to be the most popular choice due to the excellent beaches, great surf and good weather. Towns such as Newquay and Perranporth are very popular. The Atlantic coast is very popular with surfers.

Dorset

Dorset is a caravan hotspot, largely due to the rolling countryside and picturesque coastline. The larger towns such as Weymouth and Bournemouth bring attract lots of visitors in the summer months. Dorset’s Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site which is excellent for fossil hunting.

Cumbria

It’s easy to see why Cumbria and the Lake District are so popular with tourists as they contain some of the best landscapes in the UK. There are hundreds of caravan parks in the area that offer excellent access to the countryside. People who love the outdoors will find the Lake District one of the best places to go on holiday.

The South Downs

As the newest national park in the UK, the South Downs offers some brilliant holiday destinations. The Itchen Valley in Hampshire serves as the western edge of the national park and Eastbourne as the eastern edge. The South Downs Way is a popular walking route which runs between Eastbourne and Winchester. Brighton, Lewes and Arundel are some of the other major towns to visit.
